There are many, many spoilers for House of the Dragon below.

There are scant things I adore more than comics, movies, and television shows about legendary creatures, witches, warlocks and silver-haired nepo babies. And when there’s a dose of the alphabet community mixed into it? Ultra nerdy and queer? Express less! I’m locked in.

That’s what the most recent season of House of the Dragon gave us when Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, First of Her Specify , started riding more than just dragons. The third season won’t air until 2025, so we’ll have to remain with anticipation for her official coming out party. But read below for my somewhat unhinged recaps of the hit HBO show’s queerest moments so far (along with some details from the book series). Note: there are many, many spoilers below.

The Sapphics Who Never Were: Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower

While the fandom spends a lot of time debating this, I’m not here to appeal to both sides. I’m here to give you my opinion, also established as the facts. Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) is a repressed lesbian, and Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) is a messy bisexual. Don’t argue with the truth!

These two highborn women were the bes

From Sundance: 'Am I OK?' is a Delightful Queer Coming-of-Age-ish Dramedy

Three big queer cheers for “Am I Ok?”, a poignant coming-of-age-ish dramedy — heavier on the comedy than the drama — that knows its wheelhouse, commits to form, and hits all the right beats.

Directed by married duo Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne, the film follows two lifetime best friends in their early 30s, Lucy (Dakota Johnson) and Jane (Sonoya Mizuno), who tell each other everything and have long settled into a comfortably codependent L.A. rhythm. Lucy is the receptionist at a spacious oceanside spa that seems to have only one other employee, and she’s never been that interested in dating; Jane enjoys vapid coworkers and a well-stocked company kitchen at her marketing job and lives with her longtime boyfriend Danny (Jermaine Fowler). Their dynamic hits a snag when Jane gets a work promotion that will transmit her to London and Lucy, sad and drunk from the news in a sequence played with tremendous feeling by Johnson, reveals that she’s gay. Hijinks ensue, and the two seismic changes unearth cracks in their relationship.

The script, written by Lauren Pomerantz and drawn loosely from her own exp

Rhaenyra's bisexuality fundamentally changes 'House of the Dragon'

Warning: Major spoilers ahead for season two, episode six of "House of the Dragon."

"House of the Dragon" has finally done it.

I'm not talking about unleashing dragon war. That was weeks ago, and yeah, it's cool, but we knew that was going to happen; it's in the book, after all. I'm also not talking about bringing back Paddy Considine to play King Viserys in this week's episode, though that was a delightful and welcome surprise.

No, I'm talking about one of the biggest traits questions that "House of the Dragon" has ever raised — and as of season two, episode six has now answered definitively.

Rhaenyra Targaryen is multi-attracted . Rhaenyra Targaryen is bisexual!!!!!!!

Toward the end of this week's episode, Rhaenyra and Mysaria have a heart-to-heart — one that, in the span of a few minutes, adds amazing depth to both of their characters. And at the end of it, after a heartfelt-turned-sensual squeeze , they kiss in an unscripted moment that fans have been going unrestrained over.

Like many others, I have long gotten gender non-conforming vibes from Rhaenrya. But confirming her sexual self has a deeper resonance on "Hou

The sixth episode of the Game of Thrones spin-off series House of the Dragon Season 2 featured a lgbtq+ kiss between two major characters. The kiss occurred between Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno). Interestingly, however, Mizuno reveals that the queer kiss was actually unscripted.

As shared in a new interview, there were many meetings between D’Arcy, Mizuno, and showrunner Ryan Condal regarding the scene in which the touch took place. The moment occurs when Rhaenyra and Mysaria share a tender moment after the events that transpired at Rook’s Unwind. After opening up with one another, they embrace and hug one another, and eventually kiss.

Here’s what Mizuno told The Wrap about the moment:

“It wasn’t scripted as a kiss. I reflect it was scripted as … there’s just breath between them or something, and then whatever happens is interrupted,” Mizuno shared.

She added the aforementioned meetings that took place to see how they all felt about the evolving story, with “many conversations” having taken place. D’Arcy appears to have been the one to suggest the brush be included:

“Because we were separate in the
