    Our Mission

The mission of the Santa Fe Human Rights Alliance (HRA) is to educate, engage, urge, and celebrate Queer inclusion, pride, and acceptance for all people.

The Human Rights Alliance was founded in 1993 in response to the defeat of Senate Bill 91, civil rights legislation for lesbians and queer men. Rallying around the enthusiasm of our grassroots crusade, local activists linked together to make this non-profit nonprofit whose primary target was to finish discrimination of all kinds. HRA seeks to build coalitions with groups that will work for the civil rights of all Novel Mexicans and to develop outreach programming to support the community.

In addition to these goals, we organize the annual Santa Fe Identity Festival, held every year at the end of June. Pride Santa Fe is a superb event for all Santa Fe citizens to celebrate the unique, diverse, supportive, artistic community that is Santa Fe.

    Our Outreach Initiatives and Programs

    • The Annual Self-acceptance Santa Fe Celebration – the last weekend of June
    • Youth PRIDE
    • The Human Rights Alliance Endowed Awareness scholarship at the Santa Fe Group College

A pretty, gated gay and lesbian group of homes in New Mexico

      June 1, 2025

It seems that more and more people are pursuing a safe haven... a calm and beautiful place to exist amongst people of like minds during these extremely challenging times. Birds of a Feather is one of a very several gated LGBTQ friendly communities in the country offering peaceful, silent and beautiful rural living... a sanctuary! We are located just outside the Village of Pecos, New Mexico, tucked into the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, and surrounded by the Santa Fe National Forest but, only a short 30 minute drive to Santa Fe... one of the most trendy cities in the country due to its legendary history and culture, art scene, beauty and award-winning cuisine.

BIG NEWS... We rarely have homes available for sale at Birds because people love living here. I just listed a gorgeous newer residence located on a one acre view lot that is organism offered for sale due to health issues. This is a larger 2450 square foot abode with loads of upgrades and amenities built by an award winning Santa Fe builder.

      LGBTQIA+ Travel

You will immediately feel welcome in Santa Fe. The Urban area Different opens its arms to travelers with diverse interests and different backgrounds in search of revelation, wonder, and adventure.

In the early 20th century, Santa Fe became an artist's haven, welcoming writers, painters, socialites and photographers eager for new subject matter and a different animation. Their arrival further transformed the city, setting it on a path of valuing that which is different, fresh, and brand-new . That same all-embracing spirit exists today. You will find a wide spectrum of activities and destinations to occupy and enchant.

While there are no longer any exclusively queer bars in Santa Fe, there's something arguably better: an inclusive community interested in and motivated by welcoming all people into every space.
